Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag would sign England and Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham over any other player in the world, according to the Manchester Evening News.
The Red Devils are ready to try and sign the highly sought-after 19-year-old for the second time in his career.
Despite United’s best efforts, the teenager, who scored on his World Cup debut, opted to join Bundesliga giants Dortmund over a move to Old Trafford when he left his boyhood club Birmingham City in 2020.
The 22-time England international has established himself as one of the hottest properties and in demand youngsters in world football.
Despite his contract at Signal Iduna Park running until 2025, a bidding war to secure Bellingham’s signature is likely to explode over the next six months.
Erik ten Hag would sign Jude Bellingham over any other player in the world

Like Bellingham’s former Dortmund teammates Jadon Sancho and Erling Haaland, Europe’s top sides look set to enter a bidding war to sign the world-class box-to-box midfielder.
Dortmund’s number 22 already has nine goals to his name this season, four of which have come in the Champions League, which is only less than what he managed across his first two campaigns in Germany.
Bellingham is box office and United cannot afford to keep on missing out on generational talents to the likes of Manchester City and Liverpool.
If Ten Hag is going to get United back to the top, then luring players like Bellingham to the Theatre of Dreams is going to be crucial.
The report from the Manchester Evening News states: “Senior sources at United believe Bellingham could create history at the club by helping them end their Premier League title drought.
“Erik ten Hag is such a major admirer he has told confidants that if he could sign any player in the world it would be the Borussia Dortmund midfielder.”
While Manchester United’s midfield options dramatically improved in the summer following the arrivals of Christian Eriksen and Casemiro, the pair turn 31 next year.
It’s a scary prospect to think that Bellingham might not be in his prime for another ten years.
But in order for the twenty-time league champions to stand any chance of beating the chasing pack to signing Bellingham – Champions League qualification is a must.
