Erik ten Hag is said to be desperate for some midfield reinforcements to arrive at the club following Mason Mount’s injury.

Mason Mount picked up an injury against Tottenham Hotspurs which has made Erik ten Hag‘s need for a midfielder even more urgent.

With Mount out, the midfield department is now weaker than it was even last season.

Fred has gone, and Scott McTominay is out-of-favour, besides this Casemiro has been struggling and clearly we need some midfield depth.

The player needed has been tipped by many to be Sofyan Amrabat, who would only cost the club £25million.

A deal is said to be agreed in principle for the Moroccan midfielder, however United are awaiting departures.

It now seems Ten Hag is losing patience and is concerned about potentially losing his target.

Ten Hag requests United sign Amrabat with deadline set

With a deal stalling since the start of the month when it looked close, Ten Hag is reportedly now desperate to sign Amrabat and has told the club.

According to Express, Ten Hag has made an ‘express request’ that a deal for Amrabat is accelerated.

According to the printed version of Corriere dello Sport via Football Italia, a move will have to be hurried with Fiorentina setting a 48-72 hour deadline for bids to be submitted.

This comes amid fears from the Dutchman that a move could be hijacked.

It is thought that the manager feels that Amrabat is the missing piece of the puzzle in United’s midfield.

These both outscoring Chelsea’s new £115million man Moises Caicedo.

We hope the club do Ten Hag a favour and get the player he wants.

Amrabat deal could be hijacked

Despite the player only wanting a move to United, he has been waiting a while for a bid to come in.

This could result in him losing patience and agreeing to go elsewhere.

A real threat is presenting itself in Atletico Madrid who see Amrabat as the ideal signing, should they lose Rodrigo De Paul.

Missing out on Amrabat would be a massive failure by United given how keen the player is on the move.

His arrival couldn’t come at a better time, with Mount missing for the Emirates trip next weekend.
