Decisive moment imminent in Anthony Martial negotiations, claims Turkish journalist

Anthony Martial is on his way out of Manchester United and now he could be about to leave sooner than expected.

Manchester United aren’t planning to renew the contract of Anthony Martial this year, as his contract is due to expire in June 2024.

He’s barely featured this season under Erik ten Hag and when he has played he hasn’t been great.

The lack of football he’s played makes his £250k-a-week wage look absurd in response and so it makes sense that United are trying to sell him in January.

With Fenerbahce keen to acquire the Frenchman, a Turkish journalist has now made a bold claim on the process of negotiations.

Decisive hours imminent in Anthony Martial negotiations

According to Turkish journalist Elis Buse Arac, the next 24 hours will be key as to deciding if Martial will depart Old Trafford this month.

Martial is said to be keen to make the move with a potential European Championship call-up from France on his mind.

He wants to find a European team for whom he can play for the next six months to ensure his call-up to the squad.

Martial has reportedly rejected all offers from Saudi Arabia with Turkey seeming to be his preferred destination.

Atop this, Yagiz Sabuncuoglu has claimed that Martial’s representatives are currently in Turkey.

Selling Martial now is the best move for Manchester United

Martial has been a massive burden this season for United and absolutely doesn’t justify his huge wage.

The impact he has on the team in comparison with Rasmus Hojlund is night and day and therefore shifting him in January as opposed to June will be an excellent move.

Martial leaving would open the door for a temporary striker to arrive who’s better suited to the style of play Ten Hag wants to play.
