Manchester United will go to war with PSG for the signature of Rasmus Hojlund from Atalanta, with PSG having just submitted a bid for the Danish forward.
United have been monitoring Hojlund very closely. They have identified him as their top target for a striking option this summer. The 20-year-old won’t come cheap, with the Daily Mail reporting the Italian side have a whopping £86m price tag on his name.
This is definitely out of United’s budget, who will be looking to lure the Danish forward’s services for much less. However, this could now be a problem, as Paris Saint Germain has entered the race for his signature.
They officially sent their first bid to Atalanta today, which will leave a lot of Red Devils fans feeling pretty nervous.

PSG bid for Hojlund
As reported by L’Equipe, PSG have made a €50m (£43m) for Højlund – however, they do not want to go any higher. The French side are now awaiting a response from Atalanta.
This is lower than Manchester United’s reported initial first bid for the player. Fabrizio Romano claims that United have sent a €60million package offer to Atalanta for Hojlund.
Fabrizio Romano also reported via YouTube that Hojlund really wants Manchester United, and this is helping negotiations.
MORE UNITED STORIES
However, when a huge club like PSG also is interested, decisions can be swayed – so United need to act fast.
Hojlund to United could be the ‘move of the century’
The possibility of Hojlund to Atalanta has been described by the Italian media outlet Tutto Atalanta as the ‘move of the century’.
They believe the sale of Hojlund could lead to the discovery of the next sensation of football. He does look like a top young player, but is it a risk? Definitely so.
He’s still very unproven and may not adapt to the Premier League so quickly. Nevertheless, with teams such as PSG and United sniffing about – he has the chance of being something special.
