Manchester United have been named as a potential option for wantaway Paris Saint-Germain striker Kylian Mbappe.

French newspaper L’Equipe broke the news last night that Kylian Mbappe has informed PSG of his desire to leave the club.

He does not intend to renew his contract, and PSG would rather cash in this summer instead of risking losing Mbappe on a free transfer in 2024.

We wrote last night that Manchester United could cast an ambitious eye in Mbappe’s direction. And there is a small amount of momentum behind interest from the Red Devils.

Kylian Mbappe to Manchester United

While Real Madrid are the overwhelming favourites, Manchester United are viewed as contenders, claim BBC Sport.

BBC Sport report: “Manchester United are another European giant chasing a talisman this summer – and among the few Premier League clubs with the financial capacity to fund a move.

“News of Mbappe’s situation could perhaps tempt United to offer the Frenchman a move to England – and any potential new owner an opportunity to make a promising first impression.”

It’s speculative, yet it seems Manchester United can’t be ruled out, especially with the ambition of the club’s next owners a current open book. Mbappe would be a dream statement signing, that’s for sure.

Kylian Mbappe fee

ESPN’s Julien Laurens claims PSG have set a price for Kylian Mbappe, which is surprisingly affordable.

They want 150 million Euros, equating to £128 million. While expensive for a player with one year left on his contract, this is Kylian Mbappe.

It is around the same fee Napoli want for Victor Osimhen, and according to some reports, less than Daniel Levy wants for Harry Kane.

A move for Mbappe is not ‘unaffordable’ and with Manchester United back in the Champions League, there is a slither of a chance, especially if PSG are determined to get one over Real Madrid and sell him elsewhere.
