Manchester United are now looking to get two deals done with the January transfer deadline now just a few days away.

Manchester United have been quiet in the January transfer window but business may be about to pick up.

Antony has joined Real Betis on loan and United may now be ready to bring in new faces.

United are close to signing Patrick Dorgu from Lecce with a £31.5million deal now seemingly imminent.

Dorgu will bolster United’s options at left wing back but another signing appears to be on the way in.

United were linked with Ayden Heaven last week and the Arsenal defender is on the verge of signing.

Ayden Heaven style of play explained

United raided Arsenal for the signing of top young striker Chido Obi over the summer.

Ineos are now set to repeat the trick with a raid to sign defender Heaven.

Reports suggest that Heaven is set for United medical ahead of completing a move from Arsenal.

Heaven is a boyhood Arsenal fan, so tempting him away from the Emirates Stadium feels like a major move.

The 18-year-old defender is still one for the future but has a chance to emerge as a left-footed defender in Amorim’s back three.

For anybody wanting to know about Heaven’s style of play, he has already summed it all up in just one word.

Speaking on the Arsenal Academy X page in July 2024, Heaven was asked for a quickfire description of his style.

‘Physical’ said Heaven, highlighting his battling nature as a defender and showing that he isn’t afraid of a scrap.

Playing out from the back and having the pace to defend in wide areas is key in a back three, but having that mentality to fight and show some strength is so important too.

Ayden Heaven going straight into United squad

Heaven is only a teenager and has yet to play a minute of Premier League action for Arsenal.

Yet reports from Academy Scoop suggest that Heaven is being considered for first-team reckoning immediately upon signing for United.

The idea is for Heaven to offer cover and competition for Lisandro Martinez on the left side of United’s back three.

Luke Shaw’s torrid injury record means United have to make another signing in that position and the plans for Heaven show major faith in his talent and potential.

First-team chances are hard to come by at Arsenal and United’s offer of being around the first team may well have tempted Heaven into leaving his boyhood club.
