Alphonso Davies agent wants to meet with Manchester United before Bayern Munich star decides future

Manchester United target Alphonso Davies remains undecided on his future.

Ruben Amorim has now had more than one month to assess his new squad at Manchester United.

In turn, United’s head coach will have a better idea of how he wants to strengthen, with the team miles off competing for Premier League titles.

After his first match in charge against Ipswich Town, Amorim demanded a new left wing-back, having quickly identified the biggest weakness in United’s first-team squad.

Luke Shaw has missed most of the season due to injury and Tyrell Malacia is currently a back-up option to Diogo Dalot, who misses Thursday night’s game against Southampton through suspension.

United have been linked with several left wing-back options, including Alphonso Davies, who looks set to depart Bayern Munich in the summer.

It remains to be seen if United will sign any players in the January transfer window, with departures understood to be the priority.

Alphonso Davies agent wants to open talks with Manchester United

Bayern Munich are trying to avoid losing one of their star players, but they’ve yet to reach an agreement with Davies over an extension.

Davies is one of the best left-backs in the world, which is why Real Madrid have been heavily linked with a swoop for the Canada international, who could leave Bayern for free in the summer.

It’s early days, but United will be in the mix if Davies’ agent, Nick Huoseh, has any say in the matter.

According to BILD reporter Christian Falk, Huoseh will leave Munich on Friday without reaching an agreement over a new deal for Davies to remain at Bayern.

Falk claims Davies’ agent now wants to arrange meetings with four European clubs, including United.

Real Madrid, Liverpool and Manchester City could also compete for Davies’ signature.

There is bound to be lots of interest in Davies should he leave Bavaria in the summer. Players of that ability are rarely available for free.

United may be able to persuade Davies to follow in the footsteps of Owen Hargreaves and Bastian Schweinsteiger as players who switched Bayern for United.

Manchester United left wing-back targets

The Reds have been linked with an array of players to fulfil the left wing-back role at Old Trafford.

Davies may be the biggest name on the list, but Premier League duo Milos Kerkez and Rayan Ait-Nouri are both considered attractive options.

United also have the option to re-sign Alvaro Fernandez from Benfica.

As a Champions League winner, it doesn’t get much bigger than Davies, but that doesn’t automatically make it the best deal for United.
