Ajax and Ghana forward Mohammed Kudus is on Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United shortlist, according to The Telegraph.

PSV Eindhoven and the Netherlands star Cody Gakpo looks to be Ten Hag’s first choice option to bolster his forward line in the January transfer window.

But Ten Hag doesn’t seem fazed about the prospect of irking his former employers further with the 22-year-old Kudus also coming into consideration.

As well as losing Ten Hag to the Red Devils, the Dutchman brought Lisandro Martinez and Antony to Old Trafford with him, much to the Amsterdam giants dismay.

Following the departure of several of Ajax’s best players, Kudus has stepped up this season and looks to have become their main man.

He’s scored ten goals across all competitions so far this campaign, four of which came in the Champions League.

But in a group containing Napoli and Liverpool, Ten Hag’s Ajax replacement Alfred Schreuder had to settle for third-place and Europa League football in the new year.

Kudus, who has primarily played for Ajax as a number nine this season, also scored two goals from Ghana’s three World Cup group stage games in Qatar.

His two goals against South Korea clinched a 3-2 victory, but he couldn’t fire the Black Stars through to the round of 16.

Ten Hag brought Kudus to Ajax after signing him from Danish side Nordsjaelland in 2020 – beating competition from Manchester United, reported by EkstraBladet.

Kudus has already credited Ten Hag for playing an influential role in his career to date.

After recovering from a serious knee injury and other fitness setbacks which he suffered with under Ten Hag, Kudus is living up to his potential and could well be the next Ajax star to be snapped up.

A move for Kudus in January by United isn’t likely to go down well with Ajax, and while Gakpo could be the man Ten Hag is focusing his efforts on, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see the Ghanaian continuously linked a move to M16, given his connection with Ten Hag.
