Agent Alessandro Monfrecola has hinted Hirving Lozano is unlikely to make a transfer to Aston Villa or West Ham owing to the Napoli forward’s Manchester United dream.
Monfrecola has admitted that the Villans and Hammers have shown interest in a transfer for his client. But Lozano has always longed to sign for one of the top Premier League clubs if he were to head to England. And Monfrecola has also named Liverpool and Manchester United.
Aston Villa and West Ham have, seemingly, explored a deal for Lozano on the back of Napoli winning Serie A. The 27-year-old helped Azzurri secure their first Scudetto since 1990 with three goals and three assists. Lozano also only started 20 of his 32 Italian top-flight games.

A serious knee sprain curtailed Lozano’s campaign in 2022/23, as well. He suffered the blow against Fiorentina in May. It forced the 64-cap Mexico international to miss the Azzurri’s final four fixtures of the season. He also helped them reach the Champions League quarter-finals.
Now, though, having a Serie A winners’ medal might be enough to tempt Lozano to leave the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona. Gianluca Di Marzio reported earlier this week that clubs in Saudi Arabia have identified Lozano as a target. The winger is also open to a possible switch.
Monfrecola hints Lozano’s Manchester United dream will stop him from joining Aston Villa or West Ham
Napoli paid PSV Eindhoven £38.5m to sign the Mexican with a five-year contract in August 2019. But Lozano only now has a year remaining on his deal and is exploring his options after lifting the Scudetto. But Monfrecola doubts his client will be joining Aston Villa or West Ham.
“West Ham and Aston Villa have shown interest in Lozano,” Monfrecola has told Radio Punto Nuovo, via quotes by TEAMtalk. “But it seems to be a timid interest.
“Lozano has always dreamed of clubs like Liverpool and Manchester United. So, I don’t think he can be very attracted to them.”
It is not the first time that Manchester United have been named alongside Lozano, either. He admitted to talkSPORT back in November 2018 that “I liked Manchester United a lot” during his childhood. But the winger also continued with “in Spain, my favourite team is Barcelona.”
So, while Lozano may dream of joining a top Premier League side like Manchester United, he might not snub rival transfers as his agent, Monfrecola, suggests if the Red Devils do not bid.
