AC Milan could potentially pave the way for Manchester United to sign one striker this summer if the Serie A club seek an alternative target, according to reports.

Manchester United are on the hunt for a new striker and the Red Devils could struggle to bring a forward option to the club before the start of the new season.

The Red Devils have been linked with multiple strikers this summer, including the likes of Viktor Gyokeres, Victor Osimhen, Ollie Watkins and Dusan Vlahovic.

However, United have missed out on Viktor Gyokeres after Premier League rivals Arsenal signed the 27-year-old Swedish striker from Sporting CP last week.

Victor Osimhen was also subject to United interest in the summer transfer market, but the 26-year-old striker is now set to leave Napoli and sign for Galatasaray.

AC Milan are interested in Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic and Man Utd could be handed a lifeline in sealing a transfer

Dusan Vlahovic’s current situation at Juventus has sparked interest this summer and the 25-year-old Serbia international is expected to leave the Serie A club.

Juventus are keen to offload United-linked Vlahovic to free up their wages and recoup a transfer fee for the Serbia striker, who is out of contract in 2026.

However, the Old Lady face a battle with the Serbian forward leaving without a compensation fee and United and AC Milan have been viewed as interested parties.

Calciomercato cited a report from La Gazzetta dello Sport that Milan’s management have ‘declared’ Juventus star Vlahovic as a key target for their plans this summer.

According to the Italian outlet, Milan are ‘trying to intensify contacts’ with Juventus to determine the ‘right formula’ for signing the Serbia international.

AC Milan could end their transfer interest in Man Utd-linked Dusan Vlahovic and have an alternative to the Juventus striker

Calciomercato highlighted that a major obstacle for Milan in signing Vlahovic is the player’s salary, which would need to drop from the current €6 to €7m range.

It has been added that the club do have ‘other options’ to Vlahovic, who is valued at around £20m, and have a ‘Plan B’ target if they fail to sign the Juventus striker.

The Italian publication claimed that the aforementioned Plan B would be Portugal striker Goncalo Ramos, but Milan face a tough challenge in landing him.

Paris Saint-Germain ‘have no intention’ of selling Goncalo Ramos, who was signed from Benfica in 2023, and Milan are ‘evaluating this option’ with another approach.

It is believed that the Serie A outfit could agree a deal with PSG for the 24-year-old Portuguese striker on the terms of a loan deal with an option to buy down the line.
