Rasmus Hojlund’s desire to join Manchester United could see the Atalanta striker turn down a bigger contract at Paris Saint-Germain.
That is according to Gianluca di Marzio, one of the most reliable sources when it comes to Italian football. Simply put, when Di Marzio talks about the future of one of Serie A’s biggest talents, his word is the one worth listening to.
And his Wednesday afternoon update on the future of the much-coveted Rasmus Hojlund will come as a further boost to a Manchester United fanbase looking forward to Erik ten Hag’s second season at the helm with a renewed sense of optimism.

Rasmus Hojlund chooses Man United over PSG
Man United, Di Marzio says, ‘expect’ to agree a deal of £60 million plus bonuses with Atalanta. All parties, furthermore, hope to rubber stamp a potential transfer as early as this weekend, with Hojlund planning to play a substantial part in United’s pre-season tour.
The Denmark international, as you might have heard, is a big Man United fan. A ‘huge’ one, by his own admission. That lifelong adoration of the Red Devils stands United in very good stead too; Di Marzio adding that Hojlund ‘has given priority’ to Erik ten Hag’s side even. That is despite being offered a higher salary at PSG.
Alfredo Pedulla goes one step further.
He says that Hojlund – like Fiorentina’s Sofyan Amrabat – has agreed a five-year deal worth around £75,000-a-week at Old Trafford.
While far from the finished article, 20-year-old Hojlund could thrive when provided with the sort of service Bruno Fernandes, Jadon Sancho and Luke Shaw can provide. Blessed with searing pace, outstanding movement and predatory instincts inside the penalty area – Hojlund has been likened to near-namesake Erling Haaland for a reason – the talented targetman scored 22 goals in all competitions last term for club and country.
“I will not hide the fact that I am a huge Manchester United fan,” Hojland admitted earlier this year (MEN).
MORE UNITED STORIES
“So personally, (moving to Old Trafford) would be one of the biggest things for me.
“My father introduced me (to Cristiano Ronaldo) when he was at United. Then, me and my best friend followed him when he was at Madrid.
“I just like his mentality. I love that he’s so eager to score a goal. The thing for me is he is so passionate about wanting to be the best, and I like it.”
