Manchester United have been linked with a move that could be too tempting to turn down.
In summer 2025, Manchester United decided to invest heavily in Slovenian striker Benjamin Sesko.
Sesko has scored two goals but is yet to hit top form as he adjusts to the Premier League. His latest knee injury is another obstacle to overcome.
There could be good news on the horizon for Sesko, amid the claims Manchester United have been offered the chance to sign one of his best ever teammates, Karim Adeyemi.
Karim Adeyemi’s contract with Borussia Dortmund is set to expire in 2027, with Manchester United aware of his situation.

Sesko and Adeyemi played together
Benjamin Sesko and Karim Adeyemi played together in three different teams, and enjoyed prolific success.
They featured together for Red Bull Salzburg’s academy team in the UEFA Youth League, separately on loan at Liefering, and then for Red Bull Salzburg’s first team.
In those 38 matches where they shared the pitch, both players contributed at a prolific rate.
Adeyemi scored 27 goals and provided 15 assists, with Sesko netting 10 and providing five assists.
Between them they posted a total 57 goal contributions, displaying a dynamism that helped both players forge such promising reputations.
| Player | Total Games Played Together | Goals Scored | Assists Provided | Total Goal Contributions |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Karim Adeyemi | 38 | 27 | 15 | 42 |
| Benjamin Sesko | 38 | 10 | 5 | 15 |
| Partnership Total | 38 | 37 | 20 | 57 |
Adeyemi went on to sign for Borussia Dortmund, and Sesko switching to RB Leipzig. Now with the striker switching to Manchester United, he could be joined by his former teammate.
Would Karim Adeyemi be a good signing for Manchester United?
Manchester United could be tempted by Adeyemi and Sesko
Manchester United’s recruitment chief Christopher Vivell was responsible for signing both Benjamin Sesko and Karim Adeyemi.
The two players rank among Vivell’s best ever signings, and having already brought one to Manchester United, adding the second is going to be extremely tempting.
The possibility of signing Adeyemi is in itself a potentially rewarding one for United and Vivell, but crucially, it could help get the best out of Benjamin Sesko.
Still only 23, Adeyemi’s best years are still ahead of him, but it is his most successful early years that are the key to potentially moving to United and rejoining Sesko.
