Manchester United fans hope to have clarity shortly over the planned takeover – but the situation look muddier than ever.
This is the week. Allegedly. Maybe it isn’t. Will the Manchester United takeover saga ever end?
Last night The Times and The Mail both reported an exclusive bidder is expected to be named this week.
Perhaps not. A disputed version of the situation has already been put forward.

Manchester United takeover
CBS Sports journalist Ben Jacobs claims an exclusive bidder won’t be named this week, as the Glazers are set to continue discussions with both Sheikh Jassim and Sir Jim Ratcliffe.
The Glazers essentially want to carry leading both parties on as long as possible without making a firm decision.
He claims: “Neither Nine Two Foundation or INEOS will be placed in a period of exclusivity in the next step. At this stage, it’s not seen as necessary to conclude the process, which is entering its final weeks. Both groups in deep talks and being readied to ‘win’ or ‘complete’.”
He adds: “Glazers can amazingly undertake almost the entire process without showing their hand.”
It certainly sounds like the Glazers to drag this out as long as possible.
The entire process has been exhaustingly long, and whoever loses out, will be even more frustrated at having invested so much time and effort into an unsuccessful venture.
There is even a possibility both bidders lose out, and the Glazers accept minority investment, which would be the worst case scenario. You can’t put anything past them.
So we enter this week hoping for a resolution, once again. Do we believe there will be one? Not really…
