Manchester United’s fixtures will be revealed for the 2026/27 season.
The Premier League fixtures for 2026/27 are set to be announced at 10am on Friday June 19. We will have full coverage on site and readers will be able to discuss the shape of the season ahead on the TalkingPoints app.
Ahead of the big reveal, let’s look ahead at what we want for Michael Carrick‘s side…

Another home start please
Manchester United have an improbable record of starting the season at Old Trafford in the last nine seasons.
The last time we kicked off the season away from home was in 2016/17, when Jose Mourinho was in charge.
- 2025/26: Man Utd 0-1 Arsenal
- 2024/25: Man Utd 1-0 Fulham
- 2023/24: Man Utd 1-0 Wolves
- 2022/23: Man Utd 1-2 Brighton
- 2021/22: Man Utd 5-2 Leeds
- 2020/21: Man Utd 1-3 Crystal Palace
- 2019/20: Man Utd 4-0 Chelsea
- 2018/19: Man Utd 2-1: Leicester
- 2017/18: Man Utd 4-0 West Ham
- 2016/17: Bournemouth 1-3 Man Utd
The home advantage has not always worked in United’s favour, but we would rather have it than not. There is nothing quite like opening the season at Old Trafford, especially as the pre-season schedule means there is currently no friendly game at home before the campaign kicks off.
Statistically it is improbable we will be at home for a 10th consecutive season, but it was also improbable we would have nine home games in a row. Let’s hope this falls in our favour again.
Who has been Manchester United’s best performer after one group game has been played?
Plenty of strong displays to choose from…
Big game early
Home or away, let’s kick off with a big match early against a title rival. Wouldn’t it be great to win an early six-pointer?
Imagine the damage a big win could do to Andoni Iraola’s early project at Liverpool or Enzo Maresca’s City.
The early part of the season is also a great way to catch a rival cold.
Every side is going to be getting players back from the World Cup a little tired and not entirely match-fit, and while this will be a challenge for United, it’s also a good chance to steal a march on a rival.
Michael Carrick’s United have a fantastic record in big games so far, and it would set the tone to pick up where we left off with a huge win.
Kindly-timed post-European dates
One of the ways Manchester United have been caught out over the past decade is with a tough away game in the Premier League right after an away fixture in Europe.
We won’t know exactly how these fall until we get the Champions League draw later this summer.
So fans will just have to hope that we don’t end up with ridiculous combinations like an away game in Turkey followed by an away fixture at Newcastle, who have had the whole week to rest.
It won’t be entirely possible to avoid all of these, but hopefully they are kept to a minimum, and the TV companies don’t exacerbate a tricky situation with ridiculous kick-off times.
