Manchester United saw 2023 bring incredible highs, but also dreadful lows. Here are three bold predictions for 2024.
As the new year draws close, Manchester United fans will be brimming with hopes and wishes for what 2024 might entail.
Erik ten Hag will be hoping the year begins better than the previous one ended as will several players who have crawled across the line this year being poor for months.
So with little time left, let’s look ahead into 2024 and make some predictions. Not just any predictions though, bold predictions which we think will come off in 2024.
Here are our three…

Antony kicks on for Manchester United
Antony is mid-way through his second season at Manchester United and finally, he has begun to demonstrate – small – signs as to why he was signed in the first place.
The winger has regained his place on the right wing and looks far more of a threat than he previously has in his United career.
He’s started taking defenders on and as always hugely benefits the team with his work rate and defensive qualities.
He seems like he is slowly starting to put it together and that should mean he starts to reap the rewards sooner or later. Therefore Antony to come good is one of our bold predictions for 2024.
United win the FA Cup
This might seem like a laughable statement right now, with United out of Europe and struggling domestically, but it’s not as far-fetched as it may sound.
United have enjoyed relatively simple cup draws in recent times and facing Wigan in the 3rd round gives Ten Hag a good start.
On top of this, the title race looks set to be one of the most hotly contested in recent memory which could leave the FA Cup an afterthought for other big teams.
Just six wins are needed for cup success so it’s definitely the most likely form of success we could have this season.
Sir Jim Ratcliffe raids the Premier League in rebuild
With the takeover now just awaiting league approval, the hope is in January a rebuild can begin.
In this rebuild, Sir Jim Ratcliffe along with his team will be looking to fix the club, to do so we think he could raid other Premier League sides in order to make United a far more homegrown team.
The likes of Jarrad Branthwaite have been heavily linked to the club, while youngster Hayden Hackney is also being discussed according to reports. Along with several others which could see United a far better squad and one which hopefully is filled with the type of player Ten Hag wants.
Palace duo Michael Olise and Eberechi Eze are two players who would be outstanding signings for United, and while it may just be a bold prediction, it’s something we would love to see happen.
