Manchester United face West Ham next and Michael Carrick will hope to end a fairly miserable record at the London Stadium.

The Red Devils have an opportunity to make it five wins in a row in the Premier League when they face West Ham on Tuesday evening.

Michael Carrick will come up against the club where he started his own playing career, and for the first time in his interim spell at Manchester United, he faces a short turnaround from the previous match.

The starting line-ups in the previous four matches have seen very few changes, but Carrick will have to consider his XI because of fitness and injury concerns.

There was a concern over Bryan Mbeumo’s fitness when he was spotted limping after the win over Tottenham. The 26-year-old has travelled with the squad, and his record against West Ham makes him even more important.

Many United players will have bleak memories from their trips to face West Ham, but that is certainly not the case for Bryan Mbeumo.

As per Transfermarkt, Mbeumo has faced West Ham eight times in his career and never suffered a single defeat.

He has been on the winning side six times against the Hammers and drawn twice. He has also scored four goals and provided one assist in those eight matches.

Provided he is fit to start for United, he can be Carrick’s key to success in London.

Bryan Mbeumo can extend lead as Man United top scorer

Mbeumo’s impact at United has been immediate since his £65 million move from Brentford in the summer.

His record this season stands at 10 goals in 21 matches, which makes him United’s top scorer in 2025/26 so far.

Since Mbeumo returned from AFCON, he has reached a new level with United, scoring three goals in four games under Carrick.

He has already scored against London clubs Arsenal and Tottenham away from home this season, and now Mbeumo has a golden opportunity to improve his impressive record against West Ham.
