Summer signings Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo are already being considered huge successes at Manchester United.

Manchester United beat Brighton 4-2 on Saturday evening to make it three Premier League wins in a row for Ruben Amorim’s side.

Bryan Mbeumo scored twice to continue his red-hot start in Manchester, while Matheus Cunha scored his first goal for the club to open the scoring.

After the full-time whistle, Jamie Redknapp raved about Mbeumo and Cunha, suggesting the duo look like true United players.

Ruben Amorim praised Mbeumo and Cunha for their defensive work rate as well as their attacking output, and moving forward, he will want similar players to arrive at Old Trafford.

Ineos must replicate Cunha and Mbeumo transfer strategy

The priority this summer transfer window was to overhaul United’s attacking options, and Ineos moved quickly to sign both Cunha and Mbeumo.

Amorim wanted proven Premier League stars, and so Cunha and Mbeumo quickly became United’s top two targets.

United’s recruitment has been famously poor over the last decade, but it seems a corner has been turned under Ineos ownership and much of that is because the Red Devils are recruiting from within the Premier League again.

Cunha and Mbeumo are already adapted to the Premier League which helps to explain why both players have settled immediately in Manchester.

Gary Neville argued that Benjamin Sesko is struggling to adapt compared to his fellow attacking arrivals, but that is because the 22-year-old is adapting to new surroundings and a whole new league.

Ineos have also had success signing exciting stars from around Europe – such as Sesko and Senne Lammens – but the core of the transfer strategy moving forward should be signing the best players from around the Premier League. Cunha and Mbeumo have already proven why.

Three Premier League stars linked to Man United

The success of signing proven Premier League stars should push Ineos to do the same in 2026, and there are already links emerging to several top-flight players.

United continue to be linked with Carlos Baleba following interest in the summer. The 21-year-old midfielder has struggled at Brighton this season, but he proved last season that he can handle the intensity of the Premier League.

Elliot Anderson is on United’s radar following his huge success at Nottingham Forest and his recent breakthrough with the England squad.

Additionally, Adam Wharton is a United target as Amorim searches for a new midfielder.

None of the three players named above will be cheap, but Mbeumo and Cunha have already proven that big-money investments are worthwhile if they arrive from Premier League clubs.
