Manchester United’s Top Five Players of 2023, Ranked

Add as preferred source on Google

As 2023 draws to a close, who have been Manchester United’s standout performers?

It’s been a year of extreme highs and lows for Manchester United fans. For the standout moments, we look back on the Carabao Cup final win, the Europa League Barcelona clashes and the Manchester derby win at Old Trafford at the very beginning of the year.

On the other end of the spectrum, we have quite a few more to choose from. The agonizing FA Cup Final against the Cityzen’s certainly up there as the worst.

It’s been another hell of a year for United fans, but who were the ones that made the year that bit better? Here are Manchester United‘s top five players of 2023.

5 – Casemiro

Based on the tail end of last season, Casemiro certainly gets in the top five.

There was a time when the Brazilian was integral to Manchester United. Very rarely did they play well without him in among the first-team squad.

A sad fall from grace for the 23/24 season – but let’s hope he proves us all wrong in 2024.

4 – Lisandro Martinez

Lisandro Martinez also features for his solid performances in Erik ten Hag‘s first season which led to a Champions League finish, two cup finals and one trophy.

The Argentine continued to prove his doubters in 2023 as he produced top-class performances week in and week out.

He’s been severely missed this season at the back. He isn’t just a great defender, but a leader. He would no doubt be higher if he hadn’t suffered an injury.

3 – Luke Shaw

Luke Shaw comes in at third. An ever-present figure in the Manchester United side, he’s been one of our most important players for years – with 2023 being no different.

Shaw locked down the left-back slot with ease and every time he features, often puts in a solid performance.

Like Martinez, injuries have affected his ranking. However, Shaw has still been a vital asset in 2023.

2 – Marcus Rashford

Marcus Rashford looks an absolute world away from the player he was last season.

He was scoring goals for fun right until the very end of the 22/23 season, which saw him finish in May with a whopping 30 goals for the Red Devils – his best tally yet.

Because of this, he has to rank highly on this list. However, he could very well be featured on the polar opposite’s ranking in 2024.

1 – Bruno Fernandes

The undoubted top performer of 2023 has to be Bruno Fernandes.

A lot can be said about the Portuguese midfielder, but his sheer quality and undying love for Manchester United simply cannot be questioned.

He’s always fit, plays for the badge and is our best player by a country mile when he’s on it. Bruno Fernandes is Manchester United’s best player of 2023.
