Day 11 of the World Cup is in the books, and it was not a good day for Man Utd representation.

Another four games were played: Spain vs Saudi Arabia, Belgium vs Iran, Uruguay vs Cape Verde, and New Zealand vs Egypt.

Manuel Ugarte’s Uruguay drew against Cape Verde to leave their qualification hopes in peril, while Iran also held Belgium to a heroic draw.

Spain thrashed Saudi Arabia, and Egypt had their first-ever WC win courtesy of Mohamed Salah. Here’s how Man Utd’s past and present players fared.

Which FORMER Man Utd player are you most intrigued to watch at the World Cup…?

There are more ex-United players at the tournament than current ones! 🌎

Manuel Ugarte – 5/10 (D vs Cape Verde)

Ugarte didn’t have a great start to the World Cup with a draw against Saudi Arabia, and things didn’t get much better in another draw.

He struggled defensively and couldn’t make an impact offensively to sum up another frustrating game for himself and his team.

A cross that led to Maxi Araujo’s goal was the sole bright spot in a forgettable outing for the Man Utd star.

Romelu Lukaku – 3/10 (D vs Iran)

Romelu Lukaku started the game against Iran after coming off the bench against Egypt, but looked like a shell of his former self again.

He led the line in an anonymous performance where he barely knit any moves together, troubled the goalkeeper, and didn’t even contribute much defensively.

There’s a certain sluggishness to his game, which is probably down to a lack of fitness as well. In current form, he’s taking Belgium out of the tournament quickly.
