Man Utd could get unexpected financial boost much earlier than imagined due to Garnacho

Alejandro Garnacho is not a name spoken with warmth among Man Utd circles, but he could hand the club a financial boost earlier than anyone expected.

The winds of regret are probably hitting Alejandro Garnacho hard right now after he was bossed by Man Utd in the 1-0 win against Chelsea.

It’s clear beyond doubt that the “step forward” for Garnacho hasn’t gone as intended, with United gleefully looking at the £40m they received for him as a success now.

As it turns out, United are not done with earning from Garnacho, because an unexpected financial boost well ahead of schedule could be on its way.

What is your message to Alejandro Garnacho after Man Utd do the double over Chelsea in 2025/26…

Chelsea ready Alejandro Garnacho sale, Man Utd on alert

Garnacho wanted to stay in the Premier League when the likes of Bayern Munich were interested in him last summer.

No benefit of hindsight was needed to look at that stance as anything but misguided, and that has proven to be true.

While Garnacho struggles to even play for Chelsea, Bayern Munich are flying, and Man Utd are much better off without him.

In fact, so poor has he been that TalkSport report Chelsea are ready to cut their losses and send the Argentine packing less than a year after he joined.

United wouldn’t really care much about what happens with Garnacho, but they currently hold a sell-on clause that is likely on the percentage of the sale.

That is huge because it’s unlikely that Chelsea make a profit on his sale, so United getting 10% of any fee Chelsea receive for the player, profit or loss, is a major boost.

Even better is the fact that this boost is coming much earlier than expected, at a time when United have ambitious plans for the window.

Garnacho’s collapse at Chelsea has been quicker than expected

It is one thing knowing that Garnacho was making a bad choice with the Chelsea move, but nobody would have expected it to go this wrong, this soon.

Will Man Utd ever REGRET selling Alejandro Garnacho?

Putting a 10% sell-on clause was smart business from United, but they wouldn’t have thought it could come into action just a year later.

United have big plans for the summer window, so even an extra £3-4 million is good money because it’s an amount they wouldn’t have accounted for.

As far as Garnacho is concerned, he needs to take a long, hard look at himself because he has survived burning bridges with one club to stay in top-level football, but chances aren’t unlimited.

If he fails to bounce back at his next club, then the only way is downwards, and the player will be left feeling more regret.

He still has time on his side, but he needs to fix the other stuff.
