Manchester United’s young talents have well and truly been vital in recent weeks, with £64m man Rasmus Hojlund’s season exploding to life.

Since joining Manchester United in the summer, young Danish number nine Rasmus Hojlund hadn’t quite got off to the quickest start.

On fire in Europe, he hadn’t scored domestically at all until the end of December in a dramatic 3-2 win over Aston Villa.

Following this result, pundit and former England international, Ian Wright, predicted that he’d use that goal and kick on.

Since then, he’s played four games – all of them domestic – and has scored three goals while also assisting two.

His two-goal contribution games came in tough Premier League fixtures and this leads us to believe the £85k-a-week man is finally showcasing his potential and proving Wright correct in his assessment.

Rasmus Hojlund now proving he was the right signing

As early struggles often do, Hojlund was being criticised weekly by the press as he adapted to the Premier League.

Now with nine goals in all competitions, he’s putting it together and is now a deadly force up top, boding well for the future as his ‘enormous talent‘ comes into play.

His adaption time was always likely to be needed, only the fact that Anthony Martial is so bad has meant Hojlund’s been overexposed as he finds his feet.

Speaking with TNT Sports after his impressive Wolves display in a 4-3 win, he even mentioned that it’s taken him a period of time to adapt to how quick the Premier League is both mentally and physically, but that now he has it on lock.

Outside of scoring, Hojlund’s all-round play has been developing week on week as well. Assisting shows he’s developing his relationships with his teammates, especially Marcus Rashford.

Also, his physicality is now coming into play as he increases in confidence.

Dominating a defender like Craig Dawson is no mean feat and many experienced strikers struggle.

The signs are there and with slightly better finishing, United could easily be blowing teams away.
