Manchester United and England star Luke Shaw is now looking to tap into his “experiences” at the Premier League club after a strong 2025-26 campaign.
Three Lions ace Luke Shaw has defied all expectations in the current season at Old Trafford after he started all 35 Premier League matches for Manchester United.
Not only has Shaw been able to consistently start for the Red Devils in the Premier League, but also the defender has put in strong shifts in his overall performances.
Whether as a left-sided centre-back under Ruben Amorim or as a left-back under Michael Carrick, Shaw has been consistent in a Red Devils T-shirt this season.

Do Manchester United need to replace Luke Shaw this summer?
Or do you trust Harry Amass and Patrick Dorgu going forward👀
Luke Shaw has a refreshing senior role to play at Man Utd and his veteran experience is invaluable now
Luke Shaw has faced criticism over his limited playing time at Manchester United since his infamous double leg fracture against PSV Eindhoven in 2015.
The injury has forever haunted both Manchester United fans and England defender Shaw, who is arguably one of the best left-backs in the world on his day.
Despite his double leg break in the Champions League over a decade ago, Shaw has still managed to remain in the United first-team squad across different managers.
Speaking to Manchester United’s official website, Shaw said that his hardship through injuries can now be an asset for his lessons to up-and-coming players.
“I feel like that’s now kind of my job,” he explained.
“You have young lads now coming in, loads of them that have so much potential coming to this club.
“[It’s the] biggest pressure there is in football, I think. And it’s about how you learn and you live with it.
“For me, I’m grateful that I’ve been here for so long and I’ve had all [of those] experiences, and I know how to deal with it and how to live with it.”
“So, I feel like – of course, still playing – but also my job now is to give advice, and to help these young lads grow in experiences and understand the club and so they can really live it and enjoy it.”

Appreciation post for Man Utd’s unsung hero vs Liverpool: Luke Shaw! How would you rate his performance?
Luke Shaw can now set up his ‘heir apparent’ to the Man Utd left-back role with important lessons
Shaw is out of contract with Man Utd in 2027, but it would make no sense to sell the England star if another club did come knocking in the summer.
However, it is equally not an argument to simply renew his deal now based on an anomaly season in his injury-plagued Man Utd playing spell.
United could look to roll over his contract on a 12-month extension on a season-by-season basis, but in the meantime, his first-hand experience is valuable now.
Shaw is probably aware that his days as the first-choice left-back are numbered in the long term, but his teachings for his ‘heir apparent’ are so important going forward.
Whether it’s Harry Amass, Diego Leon or a whole new signing in itself, Shaw can become a key mentor for the left-back who deputises for him in the short term.
