Manchester United defeated Liverpool in the FA Cup. Yes, it happened.
I was there to witness a simply glorious affair at Old Trafford. The place was simply rocking, and subsequently on a fine Monday morning – I have a mightily croaky voice.
But it was all worth it. To see Amad Diallo‘s goal trickle into the net up in the gods of the Stretford End is a Manchester United memory that will live with me for a lifetime.
There was a sea of good performers on the day, but no one is really talking about the £120,000 p/w man, who once again, shone bright at Old Trafford and showed immense leadership capabilities.

Andre Onana emerged as a secret leader for Manchester United
Andre Onana once again showed why Erik ten Hag splashed the cash to lure him from Inter Milan in the summer. The Cameroonian shot-stopper barely put a foot wrong despite conceding three goals.
They were all at no fault of his, and for the rest of the fixture – he was one of the coolest heads in Old Trafford.
But it was one thing I was able to catch throughout the entire 120 which particularly impressed me. Watching Onana from up in the stands, you could see how vocal he was being with his defenders.
He was constantly shouting, dictating and encouraging – which led to a pretty solid defensive display for the majority of the two-hour clash.
But it was at half-time in extra time where I had to applaud him most. He was the one when Manchester United were down barking orders and pepping up his teammates. United eventually got the win.
When many others looked depleted, Onana didn’t give up. He showed immense passion for the club, despite not even being here a whole season.
Andre Onana is proving every single doubter wrong – and then some
I’ll admit it. I was a doubter earlier this season. I thought it was a bold move to shun club legend David de Gea to bring in a Premier League unproven shot-stopper – but I’ve slowly been made to eat my words.
I sincerely hope Onana continues to prove me wrong for years to come. What a keeper United have on their hands around Carrington.
