Four Christmas wishes every Manchester United fan wants to come true this year

Merry Christmas, Manchester United fans. It has been a hell of a year.

The shining toy of the Carabao Cup was the best gift Erik ten Hag gave to us this year, which put him on the nice list in the opinions of many Manchester United fans.

This season hasn’t exactly gone according to plan, but with the second half of the Premier League campaign just around the corner, the tides could turn.

So, with this – here are four Christmas wishes that every Manchester United fan wants to come true this year.

Marcus Rashford to find his form back

One of the best Christmas presents Manchester United could receive this year is if last season’s top goalscorer, Marcus Rashford, regained his goalscoring touch.

Rashford, despite featuring in the majority of fixtures this season, has just two goals for Ten Hag. A stark contrast to the 30 he scored in all competitions this season.

The lack of goals in the Manchester United side becomes more apparent week on week. Rashford’s demise is a huge contributor to this.

A few Man Utd signings… particularly a striker

United need the gift of goals – which means a new striker in January certainly wouldn’t go amiss.

The problem with this is the fact that United does not appear to have any money in January. They may have to repeat a sort of Odion Ighalo or Wout Weghorst situation or sell to buy.

At the top of our Christmas list has to be Serhou Guirassy. He’s a cheaper option, is clinical and would fit right in at Old Trafford.

No more Manchester United injuries!

Injuries have seriously scuppered Manchester United’s 23/24 season so far.

An extensive list including huge names such as Lisandro Martinez, Casemiro, Luke Shaw, Mason Mount and so many more have all spent time in the medical tent this season.

We can only hope this ceases heading into 2024 and the first-team squad gets back to some much-needed depth.

Manchester United to start playing exciting football again

The most frustrating thing about this season so far has to be the manner of the performances. They just aren’t exciting enough.

United don’t have a style of play and every game feels like a bit of a slog to get over the line. Manchester United still need to find their groove, and good performances will come – which ultimately means good results.

A very Merry Christmas from everyone at United in Focus. Let’s hope a few of these come true!
