Senne Lammens featured for Belgium against Liechtenstein to make his international debut – but should Manchester United and Ruben Amorim be looking at another player who impressed instead?

Charles De Ketelaere would be perfect for Ruben Amorim
Atalanta forward Charles De Ketelaere scored two goals and grabbed an assist during Belgium’s victory – and once again showed Europe’s top clubs that he is back to his very best.
De Ketelaere has been inspired since moving permanently to Atalanta following a failed spell at Serie A powerhouses AC Milan with the 24-year-old scoring 29 times and assisting 24 in just over two years for the Italian side.
De Ketelaere was compared to Kevin De Bruyne in his youth, but he has evolved into a genuinely unique profile of footballer.
He’s 6’4”, yet technically gifted, quick, loves to dribble, links play beautifully – all while boasting the physical traits you’d want from a target man.
His profile fits the way Amorim wants to shape his Manchester United side to a tee.
The Belgian also boasts something that could be incredibly useful for Amorim – versatility. He can play as as a No. 10, on the wing, and, as he did for his country on Tuesday evening, up top as a No. 9.
This means that he can interchange in the attack with the likes of Bryan Mbeumo, Matheus Cunha and Benjamin Sesko.
Despite flopping in Milan, he is now once again one of Europe’s most exciting young attacking profiles – and should certainly be on the Red Devils’ radar this summer.
Charles De Ketelaere has been linked to Manchester United previously
With such a unique skill set, it’s no surprise the youngster has been on United’s radar before.
TeamTalk reported in February 2025, ahead of the summer transfer window, that the Red Devils were set to rival Manchester City for the “Next De Bruyne.”
At the time, they suggested the youngster’s asking price was not expected to be too extravagant – but that may have changed given his recent showings.

Will Manchester United make a move for De Ketelaere? That remains to be seen – but it’s hard not to think he’d be an excellent fit at Old Trafford.
