Manchester United’s young players have been singing the praises of striker Charlie McNeill after he struck a hat-trick in a youth friendly against Bayern Munich.
McNeill’s treble gave United’s under-19 side a 5-0 win, accompanied by goals from Mateo Mejia and Ethan Ennis.
The young striker was thrilled to celebrate his performance with a post on social media calmly acknowledging his accomplishment.
Iqbal congratulates Charlie McNeill
McNeill’s teammates have been quick to congratulate the young forward, including one who is currently with the first team in Australia on pre-season tour.
Zidane Iqbal took time out to send a message to McNeill simply saying ‘normal’, referring to the youngster’s knack of scoring goals so regularly.
Iqbal and McNeill have played together for the under-23s and for the under-19s in the UEFA Youth League.

Iqbal is currently living his Manchester United dream in pre-season, starring during the club’s three opening games of the tour.
McNeill is yet to play for the first team, even in a friendly, and he will be hoping he can catch the eye of manager Erik ten Hag this coming season.
United could be low on strikers when the season kicks off and so there could be a route for FA Youth Cup winner McNeill to work his way in, if he can continue to score at a prolific rate in the academy this season.
