Zidane Iqbal has appeared to confirm his exit from Manchester United with a post on Instagram.
A report in The Athletic last night revealed Zidane Iqbal is set to be sold to Dutch side Utrecht, one of Erik ten Hag‘s former clubs.
It was not a surprise to see Iqbal leave, after a season in which he totalled zero minutes.
But it did take fans aback to learn his exit is permanent, and for a reported fee of 1 million Euros, just £860,000.

The value, or lack of, regarding the fee Manchester United will receive for Zidane Iqbal will continue to be a big talking point.
It will be perceived as an even worse value sale if he goes onto play to the potential Manchester United fans saw a glimpse of last summer.
Iqbal has his fans, and hopes were high after he made his debut for the club at the end of 2021.
Responding to a post on Instagram from Academy Arena, which lamented his departure and wished him well for the future, Iqbal responded with a simply ‘Thank you’.
The midfielder is yet to post on his own Instagram page, and will be waiting until the deal actually becomes official, before speaking out further.
Iqbal’s exit is a shame, but a permanent move provides more direction than a loan deal.
In hindsight, United should have sent the young midfielder out on loan this past season, where at the least, he could have put himself in the shop window and generated a higher fee.
Erik ten Hag wanted him around as back-up, but that appears to have been a misstep, with the youngster not used at all.
Now it is Iqbal’s chance to go and shine, and make United regret not giving him the minutes he hoped for.
