Manchester United loanee Will Fish has said goodbye to Hibernian after a loan spell which improved in 2023.
The 20-year-old defender joined the Scottish Premiership side on a season long loan last August.
But it turned out to be tricky for Will Fish to establish himself, playing less than 90 minutes before January.
In the new year his chance came and the young centre-back took it, nailing down a starting spot.
Will Fish loan spell ends
Fish ended up starting the final 22 consecutive league games of Hibernian’s season, playing all 90 minutes in 20 of them.
The 20-year-old scored three goals along the way too, helping his side to a creditable fifth placed finish.
The Manchester United defender wrote on Instagram: “Grateful for the opportunity to be able to play for this club, met some of the best people along the way. I wish everyone the best for the future, Thankyou.”
It is unclear what the future holds for Will Fish at Manchester United, if anything. But he will be better off after getting a taste of first team football, and a successful one.
He played one game in pre-season last year, where he was unfortunately sent off. He will be more equipped for first team action this time around.
It wouldn’t be a surprise if Hibernian make an approach to try and sign Fish permanently this summer. If that happens, then United will likely listen to offers.
