Manchester United summer signing Senne Lammens admitted that his feelings differ on a key goalkeeping trait that is often shared between people in the Netherlands and Belgium.

Senne Lammens has come into his own since his exit from Royal Antwerp and rose to the challenge of becoming Manchester Unitedโ€™s main man between the sticks.

The 23-year-old Belgian shot-stopper has impressed with his commanding presence in the United box and consistency for the Red Devils over the course of 90 minutes.

Lammens has been the preferred pick for Michael Carrick for Man Utdโ€™s No 1, with Altay Bayindir serving as a back-up to the Belgium international in recent months.

The United summer signing was integrated into the first-team squad under the reign of Ruben Amorim after the Red Devils signed him on deadline day last September.

Senne Lammens thinks one of his โ€˜biggestโ€™ qualities differs between Belgium and Netherlands shot-stoppers

Belgium star Senne Lammens has kept four clean sheets in the Premier League after making 20 league starts for Manchester United in his debut season so far.

The former Royal Antwerp player was asked about his demeanour between the sticks and whether he felt his โ€˜calmnessโ€™ was a key personality trait as a โ€˜keeper.

Lammens admitted that people draw comparisons with the calmness between Belgian and Dutch individuals, but he feels differently about the sentiment.

โ€œYeah, it probably is actually [calmness being a trait for him],โ€ he told Manchester Unitedโ€™s official website.

โ€œI think with Belgian people, sometimes Dutch people as well, although sometimes they can be quite open and quite different to me, for example

โ€œBut I would say so. Itโ€™s one of my things, I think one of my biggest qualities as well is to try to bring calm and peace to the defence.

โ€œSo, yeah, you could say that itโ€™s maybe also a Belgian thing.โ€

Lammens explained why he has been able to handle the pressure at United after pointing to the importance of having a level of calmness for a difficult role.

โ€œI think being calm and steady and collected is one of the things that most managers and clubs look at in a goalkeeper, because itโ€™s one of the most difficult positions,โ€ he added.

โ€œSo, you want to get, like, trust in your goalkeeper and I hope I can do that as well, in the future.

โ€œI think Iโ€™ve done a pretty good job at it in these past games.โ€

Lammens has picked up two of his four Premier League clean sheets in Michael Carrickโ€™s first five matches in charge as Man Utd interim head coach.
