Manchester United take on Aston Villa in the Premier League at Old Trafford. Why isn’t the game on TV in the UK?

Erik ten Hag‘s Premier League campaign continues, as they take on Unai Emery’s Aston Villa side at the The Theatre of Dreams.

Shockingly, the game isn’t to be broadcast live on TV in the UK. This comes as a surprise to many given the fact both teams are currently chasing European spots.

It should be an enthralling encounter. So why hasn’t the game been chosen to be broadcast live?

Why isn’t Manchester United vs Aston Villa on TV?

The simple explanation is that the match was not chosen to be shown by broadcasters. However – there are reasons why that is the case.

BT Sport does not have the rights to televise 2 pm games on Sunday, while Sky Sports can only show one game at a time. Fulham vs Manchester City has already taken up the available slot.

How can I watch Manchester United vs Aston Villa?

With the Red Devils not chosen as one of the games to be broadcasted by either BT Sports or Sky Sports, subsequently, there aren’t many ways you can watch the game.

The highlights will be available on Match of the Day 2 at 22:30 on BBC One. This is also available to stream via BBC iPlayer and the BBC iPlayer app.

Highlights will also be posted to the official Premier League YouTube page shortly after the conclusion of the game. This is if you don’t feel like you can wait until tonight.

Let’s hope for a positive result which will further lock down United’s grasp on a Champions League spot.
