Who is Marc Jurado? Here is everything you need to know about the youngster who was in the first-team squad for the Premier League fixture against Nottingham Forest.
Marc Jurado made his first appearance in the first-team squad against Forest – after some mightily impressive performances in the academy that must’ve caught Erik ten Hag‘s eye.
Granted – he was also included due to a small defensive injury crisis, but by no means is Jurado here to make up the numbers. He’s a fantastic talent that is more than capable of stepping up if deemed necessary.
He has a chance to travel with the squad to Sevilla this week, with expanded Europa League benches and an injury crisis which has not yet eased. Here is everything you need to know about him.

Jurado was born in Sabadell, Spain, and began his career with Can Rull before making the switch to Barcelona’s famous La Masia academy.
He spent nine years training hard at the Catalan club, before deciding to let his contract run out in the hopes of a new footballing venture.
This is when Manchester United came knocking. In 2020 he made the switch from Spain to Salford – where he entered the frame into the Under-18 set-up.
Since then, he’s progressed into the Under-21s where he has made 25 appearances in the Premier League 2 and the EFL Trophy, scoring three goals and registering four assists.
He will most likely feature for this first team soon after being included in the match-day squad against Nottingham Forest, following in the footsteps of recent academy graduates Alejandro Garnacho, Kobbie Mainoo and Charlie McNeill.

What position does Marc Jurado play?
Marc Jurado predominantly plays as a right-back.
However – saying this, he is also capable of playing left-back due to his competence with both feet. Something excellent for a right-back in this modern era of football.
The player we would liken Jurado to is ex-Manchester City star Joao Cancelo. He possesses great speed, is very attacking and loves to get involved in the game.
He looks like a real talent, and we’re excited to see if he’s utilised in the first team in the near future.
