Four years after leaving Manchester United, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been linked with a remarkable return to management.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer spent three years as Manchester United manager before he was sacked in 2021 following a poor start to the season.
He took charge at Old Trafford in 2018 as interim manager but was handed the job on a permanent basis after a spectacular run of form.
Solskjaer has rejected manager offers since leaving Old Trafford but insisted that he would be open to a managerial role if he deemed it appropriate.
A managerial return at international level has even been discussed with Solskjaer tipped for the Denmark job earlier this year. A return to the Premier League has now opened up…

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer spotted at Molineux
On Saturday, Wolves faced Ipswich Town in the Premier League with manager Gary O’Neil under huge pressure.
Former United coach Kieran McKenna came out on top with his Ipswich side stealing the three points with an injury-time winner.
Solskjaer was spotted at Molineux ahead of the match and inevitably he was linked to the Wolves job as a result.
Those links were quickly dismissed by Andy Mitten, who insisted Solskjaer’s visit was a “long planned trip”. He had come to visit former colleagues, while his son is also said to be an Ipswich fan.
However, Solskjaer’s links to the Wolves job continue to make headlines after Gary O’Neil was sacked as manager on Sunday morning.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer links to Wolves job
Solskjaer has made it clear he is open to returning to management, and a return to the Premier League would surely be the kind of offer he would consider.
According to SportBible, Solskjaer has emerged as a “clear favourite” in the race to replace O’Neil at Molineux.

Steve Cooper and former Porto boss Sergio Conceicao were are also cited as potential replacements for Wolves, who currently sit 19th in the Premier League table.
However, reports now suggest that Wolves are in talks with Vitor Pereira to replace O’Neil, which suggests that Solskjaer won’t follow fellow ex-red Ruud van Nistelrooy into Premier League management.
