Ruben Amorim is quickly becoming known for his disciplinary ruthlessness.
The Manchester United manager has wasted little time exerting his authority following his arrival from Sporting Lisbon in November.
Struggling for results, including the Red Devils experiencing a disappointing defeat against Newcastle United last time out, Amorim is focusing his efforts on raising the club’s standards both off the pitch and on it.
And for one player, Amorim’s tough approach could lead to his time at Old Trafford coming to an end.

Reason Ruben Amorim has dropped Marcus Rashford revealed
Despite being one of their own after coming through the United youth academy, Marcus Rashford finds his career at a crossroads.
Left out of Amorim’s first-team squad against Manchester City, Tottenham, Bournemouth and Wolves, Rashford has not started a match since United’s Europa League away trip to Viktoria Plzen a month ago.

What made the 27-year-old’s absences even more surprising was that just 11 days earlier he had netted a brace during a 4-0 win against Everton.
However, according to a report from The Athletic, irrespective of Rashford’s two goals against the Toffees, Amorim decided to drop the winger after hearing rumours he had broken an important club rule.
After being told Rashford had been in bars in Manchester less than 48 hours before Everton’s visit to Old Trafford, the United boss, despite Rashford’s assurances that the information was incorrect, chose to exclude him from his plans.

Rashford’s social life concerns sparking transfer speculation
Rumours Rashford has been out partying too close to matches have become a worryingly regular trend.
The 27-year-old was also disciplined by former manager Erik Ten Hag last year. Rashford was spotted partying in Belfast before failing to report for team training.
While players are still human beings and entitled to a life away from the field of play, there is a line between enjoying yourself and acting irresponsibly — this line is more clearly defined for athletes when their physical and mental well-being are used to justify their huge salaries — and many, including Amorim, obviously feel Rashford’s decisions have crossed that divide.
The Englishman’s time at Old Trafford looks to be ending, and while a January transfer remains unlikely, suggestions Rashford could join Arsenal in the future continue to circulate.
