Manchester United youngster Kobbie Mainoo has made a big impression for the first team since getting called up.
When Kobbie Mainoo starred in pre-season for Manchester United, there were high hopes. Then when injury struck, fears were genuine about whether he could pick up the same momentum mid-season.
Since recovering, Mainoo has adapted seamlessly, and has stood out as one of Manchester United’s best players in recent weeks.
The 18-year-old has earned widespread acclaim for his mature performances, amid a difficult period for the Red Devils.

Kobbie Mainoo impresses his teammates
Manchester United’s stars have benefitted from having Kobbie Mainoo in the first team, where he has quickly become undroppable.
Mainoo’s work behind the scenes have also impressed his teammates, who are thrilled with his progress.
The Mail report that Mainoo’s “technique and cool temperament have shone in training, with many senior players talking about the fact he has adapted to the first-team environment in a way many young players do not.”
Mainoo can get better with Casemiro alongside him
Kobbie Mainoo played alongside Casemiro for the first time this season at the weekend against Newport, and scored his first goal for the club.
Having the Brazilian alongside him gives Mainoo more freedom to get forward and join the attack, in comparison to when he is partnering Scott McTominay or Christian Eriksen.
Casemiro’s experience will be vital for Mainoo, who, while he has proven he can play without him, he can also learn a lot from the five-times Champions League winner.
This will be important for Mainoo’s development as a footballer over the next few months. He has already proven himself to his Manchester United teammates, and fans hope the club’s best run of the season will come over the next few weeks.
Manchester United face Wolves tonight, followed by West Ham at Old Trafford this coming weekend.
Mainoo has made 11 appearances this season so far, including seven starts in the Premier League.
