Ineos are actively pursuing both Matthijs de Ligt and Leny Yoro in two deals which would further push Maguire down the pecking order at Old Trafford.
But as of now, Maguire is in pre-season training at Carrington, and now a clip has emerged which shows why he’s so important in the squad.

Despite almost being sold last summer, Maguire ended up fighting back and arguably being the most impressive centre-back for Erik ten Hag.
The Englishman mended his relationship with the fanbase and became a really important member of the squad for Ten Hag and his teammates.
In a video posted by United, ‘Unseen first week’, there were plenty of interesting things to pick up on. At around 4:45 into the video, Maguire can be seen making his way through the young players and welcoming them all to training.
Maguire making sure he greeted all the youth players shows he is an absolute class act, and says a lot about the man Maguire is off the pitch.
His value off the field is huge, and this summer, despite Maguire being tipped for a potential exit, should be kept ahead of Victor Lindelof given the value he produces.

The clip of Maguire alone shows why United could want to keep him within an increasingly youthful squad which could yet see the addition of 18-year-old Yoro.
For his faults, Maguire always gives 100% and is an excellent professional which sets the perfect example for his younger teammates, and he also seems very likeable.
An absolute class act and the mentality he has is exactly what we should want our youngsters to adopt.
Maguire shouldn’t be kept this summer absolutely, however, he must absolutely be above Lindelof and even Jonny Evans. Only Lisandro Martinez is ahead in the pecking order right now, although that will change when signings are completed.
