Manchester United kick off their FA Cup campaign with a trip to face Arsenal on Sunday afternoon.

The Red Devils were handed a tricky away trip for the third round of the FA Cup with Ruben Amorim set to face Arsenal for the second time in a matter of weeks.

Manchester United lost 2-0 to Arsenal at the start of December, with the Gunners capitalising on set-pieces to claim all three points.

Amorim urged United to improve at set pieces for the upcoming clash against Arsenal, and the Red Devils will have to put that into practice on Sunday.

Both United and Arsenal failed to win their recent games with a 2-2 draw with Liverpool frustrating Amorim. As for the Gunners, they trail 2-0 in their Carabao Cup semi-final to Newcastle United after suffering defeat in the first leg on Tuesday evening.

When United resume their fierce rivalry with Arsenal this weekend, Amorim will hope that his side can replicate the result from the last time the two sides met in the FA Cup.

Man United beat Arsenal 3-1 in the FA Cup

Five years ago in January 2019, United were drawn away to Arsenal in the fourth round of the FA Cup.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer led the Red Devils to a 3-1 win at The Emirates with former Gunners star Alexis Sanchez opening the scoring for United.

Jesse Lingard doubled United’s lead two minutes later before substitute Anthony Martial sealed the tie by scoring United’s third in the final 10 minutes.

After United’s emphatic win in North London, Lingard celebrated the victory – and his goal – by trolling Arsenal on Instagram.

The Red Devils midfielder posted a now-iconic picture of him moonwalking at The Emirates with the location set to “dancefloor”.

How Man United lined up against Arsenal in 2019

A lot has changed at United over the past five years, including the first-team squad.

When United line up against Arsenal on Sunday afternoon, Amorim’s side will look unrecognisable to the team that won in London in 2019.

A glance at Solskjaer’s starting XI against the Gunners shows that only two starters are still at Old Trafford now.

Luke Shaw and Victor Lindelof started on the left side of United’s defence – they are the only two players still at United now.

Marcus Rashford came on as a substitute against the Gunners and Diogo Dalot was also on the bench.
