Raphael Varane reacts to Manchester United win against Villarreal
Raphael Varane has been spoilt by the amount of times his teammate Cristiano Ronaldo has bailed their teams out during their careers.
The Frenchman was making his first Champions League start for Manchester United at Old Trafford against Villarreal.
And United’s number 19 had the pleasure once again of witnessing first hand the matchwinning prowess of Ronaldo himself.
As well as being thankful to Ronaldo for ensuring his first Champions League start for the Red Devils ended with a win, Varane owed a huge gratitude to David de Gea, who saved United on several occasions.
The atmosphere inside Old Trafford when Ronaldo scored the winner was electric and it could prove to be a crucial moment in United’s season.
United’s French centre back was impressed by the club’s never say die attitude and left the pitch buzzing.
The former Real Madrid man sent a message out after the victory reflecting this.
Varane relishing the challenge
The World Cup winner is only going to get better with every game he plays in this United team, but you can tell he’s loving being a part of our great club.
His experience and leadership will become more and more pivotal as the season goes on.
Just like Ronaldo, the 28-year-old has won it all, but he wants to conquer England and that can only be good news for Manchester United.
With Harry Maguire out of the Everton game on Saturday, Varane will be eager to guide his team to a win in the last match before the October international break.
