Wes Brown compares Amad with Nani, breaks down impact of Man Utd star

Amad is one of the automatic starters within Michael Carrick’s Manchester United side, and now Wes Brown has explained how impactful he is.

The Ivorian is a pillar of this current Manchester United side, playing a vital role as the right winger in Michael Carrick’s 4-2-3-1 system.

United are building around Amad, with the 23-year-old still a youngster despite him having the aura of experience about him.

One of the most exciting players on the pitch at any given moment, Amad is a fan favourite and now Wes Brown has named him as his favourite player, making the comparison to Nani.

Does Amad need to produce more for Manchester United?

The Ivorian is the clear odd one out right now.

Wes Brown explains why Amad is his favourite player

Amad is a sensational player to watch, and that’s why Brown has chosen the number 16 as his favourite player.

Amad appeared on the latest episode of the Inside Carrington podcast, in which Brown revealed to the winger his admiration for him.

“You’re my favourite player, Amad”, Brown explained.

“I’ve always watched him, when he was at Sunderland as well, and as you know, they speak very highly of you.

“I always thought when we were in a bad place, when the team wasn’t winning, Amad would always try and make something happen.

“Lots of energy, getting at players and getting us up the pitch.”

Brown was then asked a follow up question of who Amad actually reminds him of and the response was immediate.

“Probably more Nani, he was unbelievable. It’s the quickness when you go. First of all, it’s taking the defender off balance, and then going quickly the other way. Nani was excellent at that.”

This follows Nani naming Amad as the Premier League’s underrated player, but this shouldn’t be the case.

Manchester United need to get Amad back to his franchise leading best

Amad is often considered underrated, however, he has the ability and talent to be thought of as one of, if not the, best right wing players in the league.

Even in a somewhat quiet season for the Ivory Coast international, Amad has still terrorised the league with his dribbling, although he is capable of a lot more.

Brown’s praise is also kind of vague compared to what Amad is capable of, as it should be his creativity and goalscoring that he is getting hailed for, as he proved himself capable yesterday.

Amad can be United’s main man and we need to see him back to his contribution levels of last season, which is entirely possible as he’s been unlucky this campaign.

The winger could even end up being the eventual successor to Bruno Fernandes in the number 10, a position he played earlier in his career.
