Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger says Manchester United have not made an offer for want away playmaker Mesut Ozil.

Ozil is out of contract at the end of the season and is rumoured to have already confided in friends that he intends to move to Old Trafford; there has been the suggestion that United could pay a fee to make the move happen sooner, but Wenger insists that the player will remain in London until the summer.

“How close? I don’t know how close,” he said. “We have never been approached by Man Utd anyway so I don’t see why that came up. That is something that has been created. [He’ll stay] until the end of the season, the rest is open.”
