Wayne Rooney has dropped a powerful verdict on Benjamin Sesko after the Manchester United striker’s winner against Fulham at Old Trafford on Sunday.
Benjamin Sesko came off the bench late in the second half of Manchester United’s 3-2 victory over Fulham and ensured that the Red Devils did not drop valuable points.

Man Utd blew a 2-0 lead against Fulham in the dying stages of the Premier League match at Old Trafford before Sesko found the back of the net with a stunning strike.
Bruno Fernandes crossed in a dangerous low ball from out on the right side and second-half substitute Sesko was left unmarked in the Fulham box in injury time.

Benjamin Sesko has been dropped to the bench for the last three Premier League matches under Michael Carrick’s reign as Manchester United interim head coach.
Michael Carrick has been relying on Cameroon forward Bryan Mbeumo as his lone striking option ahead of summer signing Sesko since his return last month.
What impact will this winning goal have for Benjamin Sesko’s Man Utd career?
What a moment!
Speaking after Man Utd’s win over Fulham, Wayne Rooney highlighted the key difference between Sesko and Liverpool and France striker Hugo Ekitike.
“Arrogance as well and the confidence,” he said on BBC Sport’s The Wayne Rooney Show.
“I think if you look at Sesko, for instance, at Man United at the minute, he looks like he needs a bit of guidance and a bit of help when he’s on the pitch.
“I know he’s obviously scored the winning goal today, thankfully, but he looks like he needs a bit of help and guidance, whereas Ekitike, you look like you can just pull on the pitch and he’s got that swagger about him, which I think you need to be at that top level.”
Wayne Rooney on Michael Carrick’s challenge with Man Utd striker Benjamin Sesko and Co after the Fulham result
Rooney insisted that ex-Man Utd and England teammate Carrick faces a big task in appeasing players like Sesko with the limited number of matches left in the season.
“So that’s the job now,” he added.
“Michael, that’s his biggest job now is keeping them players [happy]. Like, we’ve seen [Matheus] Cunha come off the bench and score against Arsenal. He starts against Fulham and scores.”
United legend Rooney continued: “Obviously, Sesko on the bench, but players find it hard to sit on the bench for more than two or three games and then that’s the issue Michael’s going to have and that’s the biggest challenge I think from now to the end of the season.
“Yeah, exactly [milking a weekly win]. And then when you when your sub comes on and scores the winner. So, it’s always a great feeling.”
Sesko has netted six times and registered one assist in 21 matches across all competitions since his summer move to Old Trafford from RB Leipzig.
