Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney has shared his verdict on the current state of the Red Devils and highlighted the biggest issue.
Wayne Rooney is a legend at Manchester United and he enjoyed some of Sir Alex Ferguson‘s greatest years including the double in 2008.
He will be forever be a club great thanks to how incredible he was for years under the lights of Old Trafford.
Now though, he’s an out of work manager after his spell at Birmingham City ended in the space of a few months.
He’s now been speaking about his time at United and also shared his verdict on the current situation at the club.

Rooney has appeared on Stick to the Football this week to discuss everything from his career and his views on football currently.
Gary Neville asked Rooney what he thought about Erik ten Hag‘s Manchester United side amid a pretty disappointing season.
“Frustrating. I think there’s talent in there but I just think there’s a mindset which needs to change.
“You watch some games and you think ‘really good’, but then all of a sudden there’s a switch which flips and they can go from being really good to really bad and there’s a lack of consistency.”
Rooney is spot on but recent results could inspire confidence
Rooney’s verdict is the same as many fans have had on United in recent months with inconsistency within games being a huge blow to the chances of success.
Some games have seen United perform excellently for a period then revert to being awful once more, as though a switch was flipped, like Rooney said.
However, recent weeks have seen form improve tenfold and results are finally there, with four Premier League wins on the bounce.
This should inspire some confidence within the team which has been lacking lately and finally perhaps lead to some consistency. A win this weekend agaisnt Fulham will be deciding in whether this improvement is here to say though.
