Victor Lindelof returns to Manchester United training

Manchester United have returned to training ahead of their FA Cup third round clash with Aston Villa on Monday night.

Ralf Rangnick gave his players two days off following the dismal home defeat to Wolves last time out, but the players were back on Thursday.

We have pictures from Friday’s session, where Victor Lindelof has been pictured back in full training following an absence from the side.

Rangnick has already said that Lindelof will be available against Steven Gerrard’s side and it is good to see him back in training.

Lindelof has missed four games since being replaced against Norwich, having had issues with his breathing.

Thankfully, the issue which forced him off did not turn out to be anything serious but then he had Covid which kept him out as well.

Now, the Sweden captain is back to bolster Rangnick’s defensive options for the game, with Eric Bailly having jetted off to the Africa Cup of Nations.

Cristiano Ronaldo was also in training and posted a brief message on his Instagram page ahead of the game.

There have been rumours of discontent in the United ranks but Ronaldo was all smiles alongside Diogo Dalot and Alex Telles.

This was the first time that Lindelof has been spotted since that 1-0 win at Carrow Road, and it remains to be seen if Rangnick throws him straight back in.

England internationals Phil Jones and Marcus Rashford were also both pictured, with the former trying to build on his comeback performance against Wolves.

The FA Cup is United’s most likely chance of silverware this season and that makes the Villa game another huge one for Rangnick and his currently underperforming stars.
