Manchester United defender Victor Lindelof has praised “fantastic” summer signing Casemiro for setting the standards.
After slowly being integrated into the United starting line-up by Erik ten Hag, the Brazilian’s influence and importance in the Dutchman’s team is becoming more and more evident.
The 30-year-old serial winner has made the Red Devils a more resilient outfit, but has also injected quality, steel and leadership to United’s engine room.
Since the five-time Champions League winner made his first Premier League start, Ten Hag’s men are four games unbeaten in the top-flight.

As well as salvaging a point at Stamford Bridge with a last-gasp header, which was the perfect time to score his first goal for the Reds, Casemiro provided the match-winning assist at Everton, which saw Cristiano Ronaldo score his 700th goal in club football.
He also produced an inch perfect outside of the boot cross onto the head of Marcus Rashford in injury time against Newcastle United, but United’s number ten headed agonisingly wide.
United’s number 18 also produced a dominant display alongside his compatriot Fred in the 2-0 win against Tottenham Hotspur at the Theatre of Dreams.
Victor Lindelof lavishes praise on ‘fantastic’ Manchester United signing Casemiro
Ahead of today’s Premier League clash against West Ham United, Lindelof has spoken in glowing terms about the former Real Madrid ace and the impact he’s had in his short time at Old Trafford already.

Speaking via The Mirror, Lindelof said: “He’s a fantastic player and a great person as well. He has lots of qualities – his mentality, the way he wants to play football, the way he is always fighting, always helping his team-mates.
“Since he has arrived here he has been working really hard on his role in the team. He wins the ball, he can keep it, he can produce good passes and it’s nice to have him in front of the defensive line because he’s such a clever player. He knows how to read the game well and then there is his mentality.
“It’s not just about winning games, it’s the way he trains every day giving 100 percent. He sets the standards, keeps the tempo high, he’s the one who keeps all that going. In the gym you see him working hard. He’s a role model for the younger players. You only get better by having players capable of coming in and helping the team.”
With Raphael Varane out of action until the World Cup, Lindelof will be hoping to be included in United’s startling line-up, which will likely contain Casemiro, against David Moyes’ Hammers this afternoon.
