Manchester United defender Victor Lindelof has congratulated young gun Anthony Elanga on making his international debut.

Elanga came off the bench in extra time to help Sweden see out a 1-0 victory over Czech Republic.

The win moved Sweden into the play-off final in their section, just one game away from reaching the World Cup.

Teammate Lindelof played all 120 minutes in the win, and the pair posed together in the dressing room for a selfie after the game.

Lindelof offered Elanga his congratulations, saying he was ‘so happy’ for his big step.

The pair are now preparing for the World Cup play-off final which takes place on Sunday.

Sweden travel to Poland for the fixture, with only one winner going on to reach the finals in Qatar.

Elanga only played five minutes off the bench in last night’s game, and will likely have a role of impact substitute again, with the hope of becoming a hero.

Reaching the 2022 World Cup would be a game changer for Elanga’s career, and further solidify his status as an emerging star.
