Kobbie Mainoo and Casemiro have now revealed their telling verdicts over what Manchester United fans can expect from a “really athletic” key first-team player.

Casemiro has already retained his important role under Ruben Amorim in the 2025-26 Premier League season and the midfielder has started the first two matches.

The 33-year-old former Real Madrid star, who is out of contract with Manchester United next summer, rediscovered his form last season after Ruben Amorim’s arrival.

Kobbie Mainoo, unlike teammate Casemiro, has not enjoyed the same fortunes at the beginning of the new campaign and his future at United is now in doubt.

The 20-year-old midfielder was on the bench for United’s 1-0 defeat to Arsenal at Old Trafford and for the Red Devils’ 1-1 draw against Fulham at Craven Cottage.

United manager Amorim did not turn to Mainoo during the first two Premier League matches of the season and the Stockport-born player was an unused substitute.

Kobbie Mainoo and Casemiro send out powerful messages about Man Utd summer signing Benjamin Sesko

Speaking in Manchester United’s ‘First Impressions’ series, Casemiro wasted no time talking up the Red Devils landing Benjamin Sesko ahead of Newcastle this summer.

The ex-Los Blancos midfielder insisted that Benjamin Sesko will become “very important” for United and backed the Slovenia striker to score “a lot” this season.

“It’s clear he has quality,” Casemiro said, as per Manchester United’s official website.

“He is a player who is going to be very important for us.”

He added: “I hope that it goes really well for him, because if it goes well for him, he’s scoring goals for us! I’m sure he’s going to help us a lot with goals.”

Kobbie Mainoo, much like Casemiro, singled out the finishing ability of Sesko and has backed the United summer signing to have a real impact in the final third.

“When we were linked with him, I was excited. Really athletic, powerful and really good at finishing,” he said.

“So yeah, it’s been good so far.”

Manuel Ugarte’s first impressions of Man Utd signing Benjamin Sesko after his summer transfer from RB Leipzig

Benjamin Sesko became United’s fourth summer signing of the window after the Red Devils agreed to an initial fee of £66.3m to sign him from German side RB Leipzig.

United rivalled Premier League side Newcastle earlier this month in the race to sign Sesko and the Red Devils’ transfer package is worth up to £73.7m for the striker.

Manuel Ugarte has opened up about his early interactions with the former RB Leipzig ace and he was impressed with the “desire” that Sesko has already shown at United.

“He has a lot of good energy,” he said.

“We are speaking on his first day, [but] I’ve already seen humility, with a lot of desire to learn and to win as well.

“Everyone on our team will have to help him settle in as much as possible so he’s comfortable, and we will help him.”

Sesko has featured in United’s opening Premier League matches against Arsenal and Fulham, with both of the Slovenian forward’s appearances coming from the bench.
