Raphael Varane believes something special is currently in the making at Manchester United, with the defender currently enjoying his best run of form since signing for the Red Devils.
Speaking to the club’s official website, the central defender revealed that he, alongside Casemiro, believe that something special is happening at Old Trafford, with United on course for a return to the UEFA Champions League and an exciting future under Erik Ten Hag.
Varane, who recently retired from international football, has been in impressive form alongside the likes of Lisandro Martinez and Luke Saw in the defence, and the former Real Madrid superstar believes that the club are heading in the right direction.
Varane: ‘There’s something really special going on here’

Not many would have predicted Ten Hag to change United’s fortunes around this quickly at Old Trafford. However, with the squad now backing the manager and players now starting to improve under the Dutchman, there’s a real sense of excitement in the red half of Manchester for the first time in years, and Varane knows it.
Varane said when asked about his current relationship with the club and playing alongside a former Madrid teammate in Casemiro: “I love playing, and I was saying the very same thing just the other day to Casemiro. There’s something really special going on here, a real buzz about the place and emotions are running high.
“I’m really glad that I’ve integrated into the team and to my life over here so well. We’re all enjoying playing together and that can be seen on the pitch and you can see, from the results, that there’s a very positive dynamic about the team.”
Manchester United are only going to get better from here

A win today against Leeds United could put the Red Devils second in the Premier League if Manchester City fail to beat Aston Villa in the late Sunday fixture. And for many fans, the mere thought of this even being a possibility this season shows just how far Ten Hag has taken the Old Trafford side.
With many fearing another hatchet job from a new United manager, Ten Hag has taken the club’s belief to levels not seen since the days of Sir Alex Ferguson, and in the words of Varane, something special truly is in the making at the club.
