Eric Bailly is close to signing a new contract with Manchester United, according to ESPN.
They report that a breakthrough in negotiations between the club and the 26-year-old was made last week.
Apparently, Bailly is now satisfied that he will get enough chances in the first team if he keeps himself fit.
And that means he is on the verge of signing a new four-year contract at Old Trafford.

Bailly’s current contract has just over a year to run.
That raised the prospect that he could be sold this summer with United running out of chances to get any cash in for him.
The Daily Record reported earlier this month that Inter were keen to buy Bailly and that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer had opened the door for his exit.
But it seems that United have no plans to sell the Ivorian now, and want to tie him down.

Bailly’s pace means he could well force his way into United’s first choice back four if he can stay fit.
But that’s something he hasn’t managed to do for a full season since his arrival under Jose Mourinho in 2016.
United have clearly been convinced to a long-term deal for the defender, despite his fitness concerns.
And it looks like one of the most popular players in the squad is set to commit his future to the club ahead of an important summer.
