Manchester United are seemingly closing in on Erik ten Hag as the new manager but that is not the only impending appointment.
The Telegraph report that negotiations with the Ajax boss are moving rapidly and it is expected that everything will be done within a few days.
That would bring to an end a protracted recruitment process, with United bringing in the overwhelmingly popular choice among the fans.

The same report also says that United are close to appointing a new deputy football director to share some of the burden on John Murtough.
There are three remaining candidates, including Andy O’Boyle, who is the head of elite performance at the Premier League.
O’Boyle worked briefly as an academy coach at United earlier in his career and spent the best part six years at Liverpool, before moving to his current role.
There will be more scrutiny on the backroom team if ten Hag comes in, given he has enjoyed such success at Ajax with a fantastic structure around him.

It remains to be seen how the new hire works out, but it does seem that there could be another way around this for United.
Ralf Rangnick could move into the role of football director, with Murtough moving aside to be his assistant, deputy or however you want to dress it up.
But United look set to have Murtough, his deputy, who could be O’Boyle or someone else and than Rangnick chiming in from a consultancy role.
It looked like this new position was a chance to put Rangnick at the heart of the club but United are going in a different direction.
Ten Hag has to have the right structure around him once confirmed, if he is to be the man to truly bring about change at Old Trafford.
