United fans react to Cristiano Ronaldo's debut brace

The wait is finally over. Cristiano Ronaldo has made his second Manchester United debut.

In truth, it could hardly have turned out much better.

Ronaldo scored right on the stroke of half time to put United ahead and made it a brace when he restored the lead in the second half.

The Portuguese superstar has already shown what a difference maker he can be.

The United fans inside Old Trafford gave Ronaldo an incredible reception and online the reaction to his display was joyous too.

Having Ronaldo back has been so exciting for United supporters and his display was a signal of intent.

He took six shots in total – scoring with the two which were on target – and laid on a key pass for a teammate as well.

There were absolutely no signs that Ronaldo needs time to adjust to being back at United. He hit the ground running.
