United ace responds when asked if dressing room still back Erik ten Hag after Bayern defeat

Diogo Dalot has responded when asked whether the Manchester United players remain behind Erik ten Hag following their Champions League exit.

Manchester United suffered a 1-0 defeat to Bayern Munich at Old Trafford which meant their fate in the Champions League was sealed as the Red Devils couldn’t get the win they were looking for.

A Kingsley Coman goal in the second half ended Unied’s hopes of progression in the tournament but the Red Devils hardly laid a glove on their opponents from Bavaria.

Despite a promising start in the game, that momentum fizzled out which allowed Bayern, who had already qualified for the next round of the competition, to win comfortably in the end.

Dalot on Ten Hag

Naturally, the questions will turn to whether the dressing room are still behind Erik ten Hag but United right-back Diogo Dalot sought to end any talk of a revolt.

“What I can say is that the dressing room is strong with the coach, with all the staff,” the former FC Porto right-back told TNT Sports journalist Fred Caldeira.

“We know that the only way to take this forward is to be together, work together, fight together and suffer together. And we’ve suffered a lot this season. We believe that we’re going to be victorious, and it’s going to take time. So until then, let’s suffer together, let’s work together and let’s move forward.”

Any talk of a revolt will of course be shot down with several journalists from the British media, who had reported Ten Hag had lost the dressing room, swiftly banned from Ten Hag’s press conferences.

United’s chance

The Red Devils arguably kicked off Ten Hag’s reign at Old Trafford with a 2-1 win over Liverpool last season after losing their first two, the Dutchman could do with a repeat on Sunday.

That, however, will not be an easy task with this Liverpool side seemingly back in the title race after a year of absence, United will have to be careful they don’t get blown away at Anfield.

A repeat of last season’s 7-0 humbling to the Merseyside club would surely spell the end for the Dutchman, don’t be surprised if the Red Devils pull off a miracle.

Whenever the Red Devils are under the cosh, they seem to pull a result out of the bag, Sunday could see history repeat itself.
